Yeah, MA and CA definitely have more high earners and more companies. The point is that saying that more social programs = higher taxes isn't necessarily true. It ignores factors like the size of the tax base, where state income is coming from, and the outcomes of those social programs. Many social programs like free family planning or a housing first model of treating homelessness end saving the government way more money than they cost.

Affordability is only one factor that they looked at. VT is generally more affordable than MA. They also looked at quality of life and healthcare. Healthcare is definitely better in MA and depending on the metrics they use quality of life may be as well.

McWhorter also received the Medal of Valor award in 2018 because of his response during a 2017 officer-involved shooting in Colorado City. McWhorter and Deputy Charles Roldan were responding to a search for Dennis Flowers, who had an arrest warrant out for a robbery.
Flowers allegedly pointed a gun at McWhorter, according to the CIT report for the incident. Roldan first shot Flowers twice, and then McWhorter shot the man 10 times “until Flowers fell to the ground.”

Get a job in the South Burlington or Essex Westford school district, they're two of the better/higher paying ones in the state. Once there, use professional development money to have the school pay for your masters.

It seems like there were a bunch of different incidents. In certain incidents they found out who did it and only charged the students for 1/3 of the damages. In other incidents they didn't know who did it so they spread the charges out among the students. The question is, in the incidents where they know who did it, why didn't UVM charge them for the entire cost of the repairs.

If they're older than like 26 (or something like that) and living alone then probably. If they're under 26 or have roommates who bump their combined income to over $60k then probably not.

Yes. UVM has need blind admission. If people are concerned about that being an issue they can just hold off on filling a FAFSA until after they get their decision. That way schools won't know their household income.
