Even an AI that is not superhuman but operates at the same level as a human will run circles around us. We are only bright in short bursts, heck we aren't even conscious for large chunks of time. A human level AI, grinding away, consistently checking its work, for evey second of the day will leave us in the dust. Let alone several cooperating in parallel.

I only discovered UNIX (various open source BSDs at work) in my 20s (well into the Windows Era) but really do appreciate its design.

Forgive my ignorance but is it not possible that there just wasn't a difference between Neanderthal mitochondrial DNA and H. Sapiens mitochondrial DNA? If it is passed along unchanged except for mutations is it possible there simply hadn't been any changes since our last common ancestor?

We are one of the few parts that do
