NH like just about every other state, cannot do deficits. They cannot spend 4 dollars for every dollar of taxes, they can spend approximately one dollar for every dollar of taxes.
Meanwhile, I know this will come as a shock, but it actually costs money to run a government and provide the infrastructure and services that a government provides.

I was responding to that comment. Everyone can put money in a tax deferred savings account, IRA, 401K SEP etc. They are all exempt.

Yes, and I hesitated about including immigration for those reasons. On the other hand I’m also an open border advocate. In a global economic system people have to be free to migrate as they choose.

Oh I get that they won’t do that without a fight, but I am really tired of people just claiming that it is effectively a fact of nature that the only solution is to steal more time from working people.

The solution is to redirect a portion of ruling class wealth back to workers by increasing their wages and not increasing prices, eliminating (in the us) tax caps on wages, adding a wealth tax, increasing immigration, moving Medicare into a comprehensive universal healthcare system with its own funding, etc, not stealing more years from working people.

Stores will be allowed on a town by town basis. As there is revenue attached to allowing pot stores, and every town is hurting on proper taxes, the incentive to allowing it is pretty strong. But yeah it won’t be next to a school.

There is no connection. Pot is not alcohol. We also have retail tobacco.

The liquor stores will be fine. There is little if any decrease in consumption of alcohol in legal states. What foundation exactly is undermined?

sure, as it is a population model. The boomer bulge is entering its dearth slope not coincidentally at the same time it is peaking at retirement. The point is that it corrects. All on its own, But we should abolish the cap on FICA taxes, put the full retirement age back to 65, use a better CPI index, COLA the earnings threshold for taxation that was set back in 1984, and increase the minimum benefits. And medicare needs to be rolled into a comprehensive universal health insurance system.

why?
Also you do understand that possession was partially decriminalized years ago, right?
People are buying and using weed all over the state, they are just buying it legally in the legal states or privately, and in either case the potential state revenue is lost.

70% of the people of this state want it legalized. This is an obvious failure of representative government.

Yeah? So each individual gets a 2,400 exemption, so for people such as you are so concerned about, they will not have 2400 in interest or dividends to tax, so I am not understanding your concern.
