Oh, that makes much more sense. This article just saying ahe turned up again makes it totally unclear if she understood why she couldn't go there again. Although obviously it doesn't say anything about how competent she is, but it makes it entirely rational for them to assume that this is someone who may intend to hurt people.

She fell asleep because she was drunk the first time, and the article doesn't make it clear if she realized that people would find it threatening when she came back. Presumably the competency check is for the court to determine how likely it is that she didn't understand that this would violate her bail (and that it was definitely antagonistic) or if she really isn't competent enough to be fully blamed for her bad acts. (Racists who are sick deserve medical treatment too)

Poor woman, she probably does need that competency evaluation if she was dumb enough to not realize that people are going to think you might hurt someone if you show up again after the initial vandalism. There is clearly something wrong with her if she did not realize that the initial charge was not the only thing that would happen if she continued to seem like a serious possible threat to these people.

Also most vandals don't fall asleep at the scene of the crime because they are drunk, so I would assume the people at the synagogue would want her to get help if that is what she needs. (Not to say there aren't a bunch of bigots who are fully responsible for their own behavior, but this looks like she is probably a bigot and also very possibly unwell)

Do they see no value in liberal democracy, or is it just that immediate needs like power and heat naturally override most people's desire for a better government ? Because obviously the average person isn't going to choose freezing or starving if they see no path to a better government, even if "radicals" would take the chance and continue to oppose a bad government with the belief that a good government can be created.

Oh, I didn't realize you were some nut who thinks protesters should be harmed.

Why would we let some shady company ignore his contract just because the amount of money is silly? I don't think we can really claim that he took advantage of them, if the agreement added up to many millions and they never paid it then they still owe it to him. Just like a company could owe me 1k or 10k or a million.

Depends if you have some people taking care of your house and family and a phone and charger to check on them, being trapped somewhere in a bad storm, even if you trust the building, would still leave you very worried about the stuff you are supposed to be watching out for. The outdoor conditions have to be pretty terrible to get trapped like that. (I.e. a step or two beyond "very icy" or "poor visibility")

Licht worked with Colbert, it just seems like the only thing that matters here is money and the money and/or will to make CNN better is not there. So the plan seems to be to make CNN even worse and cheaper and hope that they can position themselves between MSNBC and Fox News, when that's obviously crazy for multiple reasons. (People who presently believe CNN is controlled by Satanists for being mean to Trump are not going to come to their senses)

That makes a lot more sense in a world where he's virtually never "one of you," so he's always sort of an outsider even if he's super useful and fairly kind. All in English and from a modern perspective it's a bit more silly, since why would you not want to keep this guy as an ally? He's a main character!
