I believe Papa Bush lived (at least for the last part of his life) in Tanglewood, also very upscale, but over in the Galleria/Uptown area. All the boys in ZZ Top grew up in that neighborhood, though I don't think it was as upscale then as it is now.
Enron evil doer Jeff Skilling lived in River Oaks before it all went bust. I believe prosperity gospel preacher Joel Osteen lives in River Oaks.
Honestly, not sure it's a neighborhood I'd want to live in if I could afford it.
The name of the victim hasn't been released, but for those unfamiliar with Houston, River Oaks is the really rich neighborhood inside the 610 loop in Houston.
I think the problem is that there's a lot of easily triggered violent bigots out there, and they'll start send those death threats after they hear Tucker Carlson complain about the joke.
Back when "Law & Order" was still on TNT, I caught an airing of an episode where a character dropped the N-word, was a bit jarring to hear that on what was originally a network broadcast show.
Back in the early days of Season 1, I recall a quote from somewhere, probably an online article, that was essentially how did it take this long for someone to realize that casting Christina Ricci and Juliette Lewis together would be fucking magic.
Network sitcoms tend to have sucky pilot episodes. They're often awkward and choppy. That's why I usually give a network sitcom a few episodes.
[That being said, the pilot episode for 'Animal Control' was surprisingly good for a network sitcom pilot - might of helped that they borrowed the opening from a classic 'This American Life' segment.]
