Yeah! There used to be so many but since COVID, they haven't been back. Not really sure what happen to them. I guess many went out of business, but I was hoping to see some come back.

Reply to Dating in D.C. has never been worse by simply_soft
It could be a couple of reasons but I think it could be the algorithm for dating apps tend to favor more active accounts. Also. there are ebbs and flows of match traffic, for example, you'll have days where there's several likes/matches and then it gets "dry" with no matches. This happens to everyone no matter how well your profile is.
I am (32M) and have dated women in their mid 30s. 27 is still young. Not everyone wants to date someone fresh out of college.
It's unfair and easy to blame a city for how difficult dating is in general. I would just say keep doing your thing and find ways to meet people outside of the apps.

1.) Yup, born in DC (Providence Hospital) 30+ years ago. Went to school in MD. Elementary school was the best experience, middle and high school was a shit show. Loved undergrad and currently in grad school+work.
2.) Yes, I talked to my mail man from work all the time, and the staff at the stores near me.
Also not Black, but when people ask me where I'm from, and I tell them DC, they meant to ask for my ethnicity. Some people don't realise a lot of Latinos have been here for several decades including the 1st generation.

The parks, so many museums, the train system (for American standards), the Salvadoran,Vietnamese and Ethopian food is really good.
I also think we do well for things to do and see as a tourist.
The Architecture in this city is one of the best.
I am being bias since this is my hometown. Any DC natives or long term residents here who moved far away from the DMV? What do you miss the most?
