There are no DC townhouses where you can get that much of a clean view of the Washington Monument. At best the top 25% and only with lots of other federal buildings in the way.
Verdict: Composite photo

You should receive a notice in the mail about 6 weeks before the bills are issued. Which means mid-February.

"Some of the highest taxes in the U.S."? Is this true? I always thought after reading various analyses we were above average but not close to the top.

DC will always be a colony. There may have been a chance to do it in the aughts, but it ain't happening in this environment. Stronger resistance is called for.

Same here but for the fact that the curb lanes on my street are a godawful mess. The sweeper will probably just swish it around but it will be nice to have them cleared out eventually.

This is a bit reminiscent of the first World Trade Center attack in 1993 when some yahoos decided to bomb the building but blew themselves up when they hit a speed bump in the parking garage.
One of the recommendations was to put a central communications center in ... the World Trade Center.

A lot of the spikes are due to massive one-off events in a season and should be regarded more as statistical outliers. 2009-10 had a few of those, but 2014 and 2016 only one major dump.
Even so, we appear to be headed to the second lowest since 1960.
