Because they have a higher population density and the majority of the population isn't conserative. It's not cities, it's majority. Also the coastal areas are blue as well, even low pop areas.

Probably if they're asking the question. The question was pet-friendly places, not if OP should bring their pet.

AirBnB usually has something pet friendly in most areas. I brought my dog to a place near Stockholm a couple years ago.

I live my life too and enjoy it as much as I can as next as the fellow human. I walk my dog and enjoy good food and company of friends and family. I'm not at home doom scrolling 24/7. But ignoring facts is really not going to do you much good. I wish you luck with the better things you have to do. I hope you continue to have the privilege to do them

I'm not projecting, and I'm personally not freaking out. I let it sink in a long time ago we're screwed. However for a lot of others, it's becoming clear we are existentially threatened right now by climate change and infrastructure breaking down because of a horrible system that makes money on both climate change and having shitty infrastructure. I think if more people freaked out 30 years, we'd be in better shape.

This seems deeply insecure. People need to freak out more but know how to direct their anger. Norfolk Southern spent a shit ton to lobby to repeal brake regulations and they overwork their workers.

Toxic death cloud train derailment, two UFOs down, an ambiguous spy balloon. I'm a little concerned

Yeah I'm pretty sure this is a straight snowmobile trail.. The roads in the county get cray but there are no tire tracks on this, it's a snowmobile road.

Yeah, you can sort by insurance, online/in person; it's great. It's much easier to find a therapist that suits you (you can also sort by being LGBTQ allied, etc) than an effing dentist that takes MaineCare.

Goulash is most famous for being Hungarian but it is enjoyed all over Europe (without macaroni). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Goulash#Outside_Hungary
I was raised Polish and we ate it
Also Hungary is not Slavic but it's surrounded by Slavs and has A LOT of Slavs in the country with obvious history and influence (and vice versa)

Weird it's called Goulash in some places, it's kind of insulting to actual Goulash. It really is American Goulash (like American Chop Suey). You would never call American Chop Suey just Chop Suey (not throwing shade at it, I enjoy it but need to respect my Slavic roots).

Reply to Solar and wind is ugly, Nuclear is the only other safe energy. When will it happen here? by drdanagram
Yes yes, it won't happen here. It's not like any other infrastructure is crumbling. That only happens in other countries. We don't have undrinkable water in cities, bridges collapsing, dams on their way out, questionable healthcare, an opioid epidemic, horrible public transportation that requires everyone to fucking drive, a housing crisis, but really bad stuff only happens in other places.. Right I can go on and on. Let's go backwards because it's beautiful and not ugly. I've read about the nuclear option by people touting as the right solution (and "green") but this is short sighted.

Reply to So, what do we do? by seeyoubythesea
Talk shit about establishment politicians who got us here (both "sides" of American politics) and enjoy your life as much as possible. The same politicians have had 100,000s of people killed for $ in the other countries so it gets worse. Used to live in rural Northern California in a county with no streetlights, that's literally an ecosystem that's past crisis mode. It's straight dangerous as is. Maine is still safer than a lot of places. It's beyond repair (at least our way of doing it, ecosystems in the long run will be okay we probably aren't though). And yes, it is profoundly sad.
