I live my life too and enjoy it as much as I can as next as the fellow human. I walk my dog and enjoy good food and company of friends and family. I'm not at home doom scrolling 24/7. But ignoring facts is really not going to do you much good. I wish you luck with the better things you have to do. I hope you continue to have the privilege to do them

I'm not projecting, and I'm personally not freaking out. I let it sink in a long time ago we're screwed. However for a lot of others, it's becoming clear we are existentially threatened right now by climate change and infrastructure breaking down because of a horrible system that makes money on both climate change and having shitty infrastructure. I think if more people freaked out 30 years, we'd be in better shape.

Weird it's called Goulash in some places, it's kind of insulting to actual Goulash. It really is American Goulash (like American Chop Suey). You would never call American Chop Suey just Chop Suey (not throwing shade at it, I enjoy it but need to respect my Slavic roots).

Yes yes, it won't happen here. It's not like any other infrastructure is crumbling. That only happens in other countries. We don't have undrinkable water in cities, bridges collapsing, dams on their way out, questionable healthcare, an opioid epidemic, horrible public transportation that requires everyone to fucking drive, a housing crisis, but really bad stuff only happens in other places.. Right I can go on and on. Let's go backwards because it's beautiful and not ugly. I've read about the nuclear option by people touting as the right solution (and "green") but this is short sighted.

Talk shit about establishment politicians who got us here (both "sides" of American politics) and enjoy your life as much as possible. The same politicians have had 100,000s of people killed for $ in the other countries so it gets worse. Used to live in rural Northern California in a county with no streetlights, that's literally an ecosystem that's past crisis mode. It's straight dangerous as is. Maine is still safer than a lot of places. It's beyond repair (at least our way of doing it, ecosystems in the long run will be okay we probably aren't though). And yes, it is profoundly sad.

On the topic of headlights (yes please use them) - there's a special place in hell for you halogen wielding psychopaths.

(edit: whoops meant aftermarket LED "asshole I can see everything and don't care if I blind you especially if you're one of the many who has astigmatism and will send you into a giant bright blinding halo" headlights
