DOT is paying for that bridge with federal tax dollars. Town revenue has very little to do with it. Occasionally there is a 10% local district match but most projects are 100% DOT funded unless there is a town water/sewer crossing. The towns are responsible to pay for those. Disclaimer: I build bridges as a Project Manager.

Yea but the browntail moth love this weather and they’ll be back out crushing our souls soon. If its on your property you know what I mean. Can’t even go outside without breaking out when they are in your trees. I’m spending $6k this year just to mitigate. $3k last year wasn’t nearly enough. I get so much anxiety because of the moths and this warm winter weather. Paying someone with a drone to remove the nests currently but they always return. I have 100s of oak trees and these damn things love oak. And I can’t even cut them down as they are too close to a water source and protected, not that I want to cut them down but now these damn moths have me wishing I never loved these 80’ oak trees. We need cold/wet springs but those days are gone. I love warm weather it’s depressing that I can’t love it anymore.

Medical field is terrible. Everyone i know in it is absolutely miserable even the rich ones. Electrican would be the way to go I can never find an electrician for my bridge projects. They are all too busy to bother with small electrical jobs less than $10k

Your well will be fine. I’ve seen -30 many times no frozen wells. Your car might not start due to the battery. If your house isn’t well insulated and your not running the heat your pipes would freeze.

Maple trees in CT still produce sap so I would think we still have 15 or so years before Maine is a barren wasteland for sap production except for northern maine. By 2050 Portland will have around the same weather as Baltimore has today.

You forgot the worst of them all. Browntail moth is ruining my life from mid may to mid july past 3 years. Spent $5k on mitigation/removal so far but they keep coming back that just keeps them from expanding. Looking at having to spend around $3000 this year. My wife breaks out even when fully clothed just from being outside until late September but I stop breaking out around 3rd week of july. It is our worst nightmare. Looking at contacting someone with a drone. My oak trees are infested and I have about 40 large oaks near my house all around 45-80 feet tall and I am on a pond so can’t spray within 75 feet. The injections are very expensive. Has another here used a done removal service and how much was it? It causes stress and anxiety for me year round worrying about how bad the next season will be. Spent many hours last year delimbing as much as I could around the house with a pole trimmer but that doesn’t help much for the 80ft oaks.
