Budget keeps getting cut with programs we need related to social/emotional health, and wages are not worth it for teachers to endure the asylum like classrooms that exist now. Parents want to take no accountability for their violent kids so teachers just have to « deal with it ».

The worst part is ESSER funds were cut this year so all the behavior/social emotional specialists/ health teachers are being cut at the worst possible time. You think THIS year is bad, wait till next year.

Yes but housing also needs to be cheaper and there needs to be laws that only full-time Vermonters, buying their ONLY home, can live there. Otherwise it will just get snatched up by the wealthy again.

Lul- America is more expensive by a long shot. Are you converting CAD to USD? My gf pays $600 USD for a one bedroom in Montreal compared to my $1650. That’s $2100 CAD.

I’m a single teacher living in a 1bedroom/bathroom apartment. My rent is $1650. I teach in one of the better paid districts but it means I’m also in the most expensive area and hate commuting. I get paid well because I’m in my 11th year and have a masters. Many of the teachers here are either married or have a roommate.
