For beans—Strigo. They’re super friendly, located in the same business complex as the 314 beer garden, and do free local delivery themselves to a few local zip codes. Easily my go-to roastery, fresh as can be. Other nearby options include Quartertone (he works out of Nod Hill Brewery’s building in ridgefield) and Shearwater (a few locations in Fairfield county).
For cafes—Cafe Dolce has been my favorite for years now, and Pausa and Allora are newer options. Haven’t been to Allora yet, but they use Strigo beans, which is a good sign. Pausa is Italian in everything they do, food and coffee.

Pausa is good! Definitely a cute little spot. That and Cafe Dolce would be my Norwalk coffee spots, although Allora looks nice too and apparently uses beans from Strigo to make it extra local.

It’s a list, but if the Norwalk recommendation is representative of the rest of the list, I’m not taking the list too seriously. That’s not a cafe at all and it’s definitely not the best option for coffee in the area.

You’re already paying 60 cents with the current 5 cent deposit, so it’s a net 60 cent change. 60 cents won’t stop anyone from buying their soda, nor will an extra 5 cents per can motivate many more people to recycle.

It’s a minor regressive tax at best and a way to very cheaply employ the homeless at worst. I’m all for making less waste and recycling and whatnot, but the bottle deposit is a weird way of doing it. 5 or 10 cents isn’t enough to matter for most people.

I’ll enjoy the blessed arethusa nog at any price point. This is basically liquid gold.

If you’re looking for a brunch vibe, Kneads. Expensive (duh, Westport), but I was very happy with my meal.

Upvote for Cost Plus. It sounded too good to be true, but with Cuban’s name attached to it, my SO tried it and saved a bunch on what ended up being identical medication. I’d highly recommend it too.

Harbor Harvest is a small grocery store in East Norwalk that prepares thanksgiving components by the pound to be picked up today (turkey, carrots, stuffing, etc.). You can check their Facebook posts from the last 2 weeks for prices and send them a message or call asking if they have leftovers, as they typically do it by pre-order.
I enjoyed their carrots and stuffing one year when I didn’t have the kitchen space to make a full feast. Just re-heat in the oven and enjoy.

TJ’s for cheap eggs, milk, butter, nuts, and junk food. Stews for fresh food/veggies/fruit/meats/fish.
They’re different stores with different purposes.

This country has crap infrastructure for EVs, their batteries don’t last for really long drives, and most importantly, the “assumptions” tab in that link states that they don’t factor in the cost of a replacement battery at all. A quick googling for a Chevy Bolt (your choice) has the average cost to replace at 16000 (wtf!), which if you’re replacing it at year 10 or so, is a tough cost to put up with at that point in a car’s lifespan. You’re buying a new car at that point. That 1600 in gas money per year, after 10 years, is the same as a Chevy Bolt battery, so it’s pretty close to neutral on fuel/energy costs.
Complaining about replacing a filter for gas cars but ignoring that your source doesn’t include battery replacement costs for EVs is just a little ridiculous.
