Blake's is my personal fave! Their graham cracker ice cream is totally unique, and their peppermint is possibly the best peppermint ice cream I've ever had.

Each ticket costs $10. If four people buy tickets and one wins, that person gets $20 and the other $20 goes to the scholarship fund, but if 10 people buy tickets, the winner gets $50 and the fund gets $50. So 50% of the money goes to the winner, and the other 50% goes to the rotary scholarship fund.

They're so creative and they have the DIY skills (and available tools!) to really make things work out that you'd think would totally fail (like this laptop). I love their channel!

Are you referring to the reflective emergency medical blankets? They're reflective so they warm people up super fast and take up very little space in a first aid kit.

The library in Montpelier is so beautiful! It would be an amazing wedding venue if they do that sort of thing. I don't get down there often enough!

That makes sense! I usually only make 1-2 portions at a time so it's not been an issue, but if it's something you make regularly or in large quantities then it's worth the drawer space!

It's also possible to just make it with a colander or grater with big holes! Not quite as convenient, but it saves one from having to buy a specialty kitchen object, which is something I personal find beneficial.

I love how much good Nepalese/Indian food there is in VT nowadays! We have like 3 or 4 restaurants in Essex now and they're all amazing.

Reply to Consumer Reports says BJ's and Target's brand maple syrup tastes better than Vermont Maple syrup. What say you? by CalicoFlannel
You know, they're wrong, but at least they named real maple products and not some of that fake nonsensical "pancake syrup." (And in all honesty, sometimes it's been hard to track down affordable local syrup, so I haven bought Costco in the past, I'm sorry, don't kill me!).

Chen Yang Lee in Bedford is some of the best Chinese food I've ever had, and I highly recommend it. As someone who went to St. A's, New Wa Toy holds a special place in my heart, but I can't wholeheartedly recommend it as I know more than one person who got food poisoning from them during my 4 years on campus.

I feel like Randall Munroe (of XKCD fame!) would be able to answer this on his What If? site; it's full of stuff exactly like this. Here's one that answers, from how high would you need to drop a steak for it to be cooked when it hits the ground?

I'm not especially surprised. Those of us who are native can barely (or just can't) afford to live there anymore. Just trying to exist in our homes causes stress with all the new people buying up anything affordable.
