I've got some friends visiting from out of town and I was curious if anyone knew of any places that were doing stuff for the holiday.

And before anyone has the chance to say it, yeah, I know it'd dumb to go out on Saint Paddy's Day. But still, someone's gotta drive the snakes out of Providence.

EDIT: Thanks for the good vibes, y'all! I expected a lot more cynicism regarding a holiday that generally only extends to getting belligerently drunk, so I really appreciate the suggestions!

Why would it be dumb to go out on St. Patrick’s day? Enjoy it!

Thanks for the energy! I just know some people hate holidays that invite people descend upon their hometown to drink and be a menace (not that that’s what I’m planning lmao).

Dumb cuz in PVD it’s the only night worse than NYE for amateurs going way past their limits. If you like the idea of queuing for a piss and finding people (women in the men’s room included) pissing in the sinks, in the trash can, etc. then enjoy!

Guess it was ok when I was 19 but yeesh, not anymore.

I think that speaks more to the places you're choosing to go than the day itself. The places like that on St Patricks Day are place I'd fucking hate the other 364 days out of the year too.

Muldoon's Saloon was always a great place EXCEPT on St. Patrick's Day, Same for any number of otherwise awesome pubs from Bristol to Boston.

Lucky Enough is doing $6 20oz Guinesses & will have a corned beef special

Ogies will have some kind of St. Patty's party vibe with whiskey specials & will be doing an assortment of corned beef things

Kimi's Bar will have a DJ, lots of drink specials, and a food truck

No problem! They've quickly become my new favorite local spot. Can't go wrong with anything on their food menu & the atmosphere is super chill.

Nothing wrong with going out on St. Paddy's, just don't be an asshole drinker and make everyone else's day miserable. If you feel like a drive, Lops in Woonsocket opens at 10 am.

Start at Murphy's for an Irish Breakfast!

Lots of live music, band at 5 at moniker, bands at the guild in Pawtucket, 12pm music at Dublin Rose in Seekonk. I'm sure there's a lot more.

There is no reason to drink and drive. Plenty to do in Providence.

No reason to be a dick. Uber, Lyft, public transit and DDs exist.

Act responsibly, styvorama. Your hostile response strongly suggests that you do plan to drink and drive.

Bradley Cafe on Admiral is cooking up 300+ lbs of corned beef and typically has the PPD/PFD bagpipes come by to play.

I'm a few years out of the St Paddy's Day scene, but back in the day, I'd always spend some time at Tortilla Flats. Nothing better than starting your St. Patrick's Day at a mexican restaurant!
