Dry. Ain’t it.

Capotorto’s throws down with em. Want something extra crispy and different? The bonchon chain in downtown New Haven.

Did their chicken strips change to something awful like the Fairfield location? Their strips are closer to badly coated KFC tenders at this point.

Nah once you have Dew Drop, every other wing joint is just vying for second place.

Archie Moore's used to be better. Wings are still okay, but definitely less meaty and much drier than before.

For my money, I like New West Cafe in Westville.

New West is definitely a sleeper pick

Second new west. They serve wings really late too. Delaneys has great wings as well. Both are way better than Archie moores

If you like Indian, Sherkaan’s wings are amazing. The meat just fell off the bones.

I moved away from New Haven 16 years ago, and both am a foodie and am married to a foodie, and Southern Wings is probably on the top 5 restaurants I miss most, possibly even top 3.

Yea I know the feeling. moved away from new haven and I never realized how good the food was there compared to other cities on the east coast.

If you're staying in New Haven, Ricky D's Rib Shack.

These are probably easily the best in New Haven. Next Door has surprisingly fantastic wings (for a non-BBQ place). Mecha has excellent wings.

For me, the Caribbean jerk from Southern Wings Express in West Haven is the best flavor around.

Pouring one out for Humphreys….

Dew Drop in Derby or just haul it over to TK’s in Danbury where they give you free wings for your birthday.

4

bingybunny t1_jb4w46s wrote

+1 for TK's. TK's had the best wings in New Haven until the city opened a school across from them and effed their zoning

qawsu15 t1_jb61tfs wrote

I never realized that’s why they closed, I always thought it was because the CVS(?) bought that property

bingybunny t1_jb6xdbx wrote

Dew Drop Inn sounds pretty good though... similar to what I liked about TK's- the small crunchy wings. TK's was always packed, no way they sold that business unless forced. They must have been doing like 2 million a year in sales

qawsu15 t1_jb6y3hz wrote

Both are good! Dew Drop has more flavors, but TK’s has the better space.

TKs New Haven (and some other businesses) closed as part of the project that resulted in the College & Crown Apartments.

In the city, Archie Moore’s and Next Door. Outside, Dew Drop.

I’ve also heard but can’t confirm, that Blind Rhino is good. They are a permanent fixture at Tribus now.

Dew Drop. Worth the short drive.

Ricky D’s rib shack… you wont regret it. Delicious food, good price, good people. BBQ chicken is also really good but it’s Korean style

Daviddoesnotexist t1_jb4sx1a wrote

BBQ Chicken for Korean wings. Dew drop inn wings are tiny, over cooked, and over priced
