Fairfield Pepe’s is very inconsistent lately. Often too thick and doughy.

It’s not a hard drive. Or go to Zuppardi’s or Mike’s in West Haven, Papa’s or Jimmy’s in Milford.

Messy zoning like that isn’t the answer. We need to majorly raise the density of our cities.

I worked in the city and did hotels on late nights and it was way under 500. Usually 150-250 for a decent hotel.

Danbury line is slow though, and infrequent. And uncomfortable. Most make the drive to southeast train.

Milford would be the best of the worst options. Hopefully you don’t have to commute every day.

Your assessment is correct. Great if you don’t have kids or can afford private school $$$. If you don’t have to commute to NYC, there’s no good reason to choose it over Milford.

I’d disagree with parking. If you know where to park it’s fine. I never have an issue and go to downtown almost daily, and beaches often.

Actually Trumbull taxes (mill rate) are higher than Fairfield’s.

Newtown is very different from Milford. More wooded and quiet. Not as much going on and people tend to be less outgoing.

There’s a lot more areas than Devon and Woodmont though.

Milford is awesome. I lived near Newtown in Bethel and it was a little too sleepy for me. Milford feels more vibrant if that makes sense. And friendlier. Also being near New Haven is a HUGE plus. So much culture, entertainment, food, cool areas to walk.

How many days a week? 1-2 would be fine. 3+ could be painful. Always train.
Also helps if work is near GCT and not, say, downtown.

Beach Ave in Milford has some really cool rock outcroppings and is a beautiful walk.

I thought they had another income to help with costs.
Also:
Depending on down payment those could be doable. There’s not that much inventory now, anywhere.

East Rock or Westville in New Haven. Maybe Wooster Square if you can find a condo in your budget.
I’d also look at suburbs.
If you don’t need good schools, West Shore area of West Haven is a great value and nice and safe. Basically the shoreline area of West Haven that abuts Woodmont in Milford. Lot of bang for buck (besides the schools).
I’d also look at Milford and Branford, great towns. Wallingford is worth considering too. Hamden taxes are a little crazy so I’d avoid.
Seymour is a really good value if you don’t mind a little extra commute.

I tried both and preferred Rockfish. Found the fish fresher. Amazing scallops, kama toro, Maine uni, real Japanese wagyu. Also Jason is a great guy. Rockfish is also cheaper. Why’s that so controversial?
