I wonder if being familiar with I Ching might change my appreciation of the book. I know what it is, and assuming his depiction is accurate I learned something more, but maybe a better background would give more insight into what the characters were doing.

Reply to Was Western Washington’s infrastructure the reason the Nisqually quake had no direct fatalities? by yungcarwashy
What PhuckSJWs said, and to amplify on the Turkiye/Syria (don't forget them) situation, the standard construction there appears to be unreinforced masonry (brick & stone). I think the places with the most casualties are smallervillages, not places with urban buildings of reinforced concrete. I suspect that those contractors being brought up on charges are responsible for a small percentage of the deaths and injuries.
But I could be wrong, we will learn more with time.

My standard tip is 20%. I don't use DoorDash much (maybe once or twice in a lifetime) but when I did I tipped that amount. If it's a real small order I will bump it up to an amount that makes it worth the driver's while, so $2 if the item is $5. That's so little they are likely taking a loss on it - counting their time as money and knowing the shafting those people get from their "employer." In my state there's no "tipped employee" wage like many states have, which is like $2.13/hr. But they still don't get paid what they are worth.

I did this, re-registered my car when the out-of-state plates expired. No questions asked except the clerk collects plates from other states and wanted mine for her collection. NB no inspection in most rural counties.

Do I infer correctly pedestrians are free eastbound? Note I see a lot of motorcycle traffic on I90, I5 and around the east side (Kirkland, Redmond, Bellevue, Bothell etc) so this does not surprise me.

Broaden your search a bit, include Port Angeles and Sequim. I'm pretty sure you'll find something. Forks is a very small town. Also post this question to the Sequim group in Facebook - assuming you're not concerned with the beans spilling. LGBGT is not that unusual here..

Reply to Bainbridge Island or Whidbey Island? by throwaway6300011
Why are you coming? Primarily for vacation or primarily to do something in Seattle? Whidbey Island is not close to Seattle. You would need a car to get to Seattle from there and the travel time is at least an hour - ferry to Mukilteo and then car south on I-5 to Seattle. Bainbridge has public transportation into Seattle proper, as it's immediately adjacent.

It's unusual to see this year's fawn with a buck, though I see he's got buds on his head. Usually they stay with Mom for two years before striking out on their own, normally forming a small group of the same age until they grow to full size. I've always got four to eight hanging around hoping I'll leave the orchard gate open or the ducks will leave them something.

While you are on the east side near Walla Walla, take a half-day trip north of there to Palouse Falls. Some of the best scenery on the east side of the Cascades.
