Yes and that starts with regulating the inflow. It’s hard to make it in the city and downright impossible if you don’t have any marketable skills. The federal government must stop uncontrolled inflow of illegal immigrants but make it easier for qualified candidates to legally migrate to the US (see for example the Canadian points system). As long as illegal is easy and legal is hard, the US will spend more than it gets in return.

I find Ron DeSantis’ human trafficking operation as disgusting and inhumane as the next guy, but you do have to admit that it’s working. People who continuously have denied that the US has a problem at the Southern border are waking up to the fact that they simply cannot house all the people arriving. That’s what Florida and Texas have been experiencing all day every day for years. Many of the ‘solutions’ are shortsighted and inhumane, but solutions are needed that decrease the inflow quickly and sustainably. Denying the problem doesn’t help anybody, least the migrants whose sky-high expectations can never be met.

Why? 96 percent of it won’t use surface streets and the costs are much lower. What’s the downside?

I hate the Gothamist for always framing everything in the most negative way. We are likely getting a train line connecting Queens and Brooklyn: big win! We’re also getting several new Metro North Stops in the Bronx dramatically cutting commuting time to Pen (plus Long Island and NJ by extension) and Connecticut: another big win! But sure let’s nitpick and post unrealistic demands instead of celebrating two big victories for public transport in New York, both benefitting traditionally underserved communities.

I think the version with the logos looks better than the version with the flags. Both cool though. Honestly the colors alone are a great indication of who is who. Anyway, special shout-out for getting the Swiss flag right in the alternative version (yes it is square)!

Burberry Trenchcoat. Not very waterproof and colors fading fast. Honestly garbage product.

No local emissions in a dense urban area is a really big deal especially as these cars are running through most of the day (even when they are standing). I assume they chose the Ford because because that’s already their main supplier of police vehicles and will make service and maintenance a lot easier than getting them from another manufacturer.
