Walter's Automotive on Baum Blvd near the Essex House Apartment Building is the absolute best in that area in my opinion. He does great work at a fair price. There seems to be no repair he can't handle even on foreign cars. I have no idea how quick you can get in but its worth a call or a drive over there.

If you are interested in value and decent Italian food my recommendation is the Pleasure Bar in Bloomfield. There is a public parking lot very close to the restaurant.

Reply to Pittsburgh's Just Ducky Tours by SabotUp007
I had just moved back to my hometown of Pittsburgh after nearly 40 years away. My friends came to visit me, they were both semi-disabled but able to walk around fairly well. So I take them on the Ducky tour. The woman gets seasick and almost faints, while her husband, an avid fisherman, is allowed to take the wheel for a moment. He almost steers the tourboat into some obstacle but luckily the driver regained control. That was the end of sightseeing on the water for us.

The Manor Theatre in Squirrel Hill is open to the public for private parties and special events but sorry I have no idea of pricing.

I drove 40 miles daily on the Capital Beltway in DC for almost twenty years and never felt as nervous as I do on Pittsburgh roads and on the Parkway here. The main things for me are the people in such a rush to make a left turn in front of me, and the people who confuse a Yield sign for a Merge sign.

Reply to So I have this accordion... by X_PRSN
This is just a shot in the dark but when my dad was in an assisted living place in Squirrel Hill area he used to tell me about the great accordionist who would perform for the residents. I wonder if it might be worthwhile to contact some senior facilities or nursing homes to ask for the name of the accordionist who performs at various places.
