hmmm well there's a lot here to unpack. are other races not decent or successful?

Seems to me it's more political connections than anything else as to why action was taken so quickly after only one occurrence when this has been happening for years and years all around the state.

Cities aren't loud, cars and other heavy vehicles are loud.

And like I said in my other comment, I'll believe it when I see it regarding the results of this task force.

yes, but it fluctuates wildly depending on weather, economy, and either way it still comes from how much the customer is willing to pay. I'd gladly pay more for food so servers and other tipped staff can earn a living wage and have tipping optional for really exceptional service like most other countries.

Then let's have that long discussion. I agree there's a place for everything you mentioned to a point, but the city has thousands and thousands of unused spaces. The area these take up isn't nearly as large as, say, Hartford, but it's still a big portion of the city's most valuable land. There are strides being made, but it's not enough yet.

There's no reason New Haven couldn't lead the charge in vision zero and safe streets in its class of mid-sized cities.

How ridiculous; free or cheap street parking takes up so much room in this city when there are far more spaces than would ever be needed in garages and surface lots. We desperately need safer streets for everyone, and outdoor dining is a key part to opening the street to everyone as a community instead of hunks of metal taking up valuable space. The spaces around the aforementioned restaurants should be pedestrianized anyway for the city to move forward and improve safety for everyone.

I love how helpful my state is :) people talk shit about the northeast but I think we're s some of the nicest people in the country.

It's easy to catch the bus from Metro-North's Harlem-125th Street station to LGA.

Sometimes Amtrak can get expensive, so make sure to book early to EWR. There's also Newark Penn (neatly every train stops here) where you could catch an NJT train or bus to the airport. A budget trip would be Metro-North to Grand Central to a NJT bus, I think #60?

There are also frequent buses from Hartford's Union Station to Bradley. Better facilities than Windsor Locks with better accessibility. New station is in the works closer to town.

CTtransit 206 goes to and from the Tweed(sometimes you have to reach out to schedule a slight deviation, just a couple blocks) and the green, where you could connect with other buses and parking garages there or at Union.

Don't forget State Street for catching the Hartford Line, could be easier due to bus connections downtown.

All buses anywhere in the state are free through 3/31/23. Hope they extend it and improve the system; ridership has been great.
