Reply to Dubbed from English to English? by andrewfromx
Different situation, but that reminds me of Mad Max (1979), which when it was initially released in the U.S., was dubbed from its original Australian English into American English.

Not ever having visited Chicago, I always found the suburban aesthetics as depicted by John Hughes appealing.

I once saw L.Q. Jones at an outdoor jazz show and he was wearing A Boy and his Dog t-shirt.

Reply to What do you do with movie posters? by Keasaer
If they’re One Sheet posters (usually 27” x 41”), they can be valuable depending on the film, year, condition, etc… I bought most of mine at movie memorabilia stores except a few I got at special screenings. I have them stored in cardboard tubes, but I did have a few mounted and framed and I’ve also sold some.

+1 for Muriel’s Wedding, Breaking Away, & The Verdict. Three of my favorite emotionally triumphant endings.

I’m the same way with Toy Story. I couldn’t get into it and have no interest in seeing it.

Reply to How do you feel about movies with main stars that were cancelled / or had done nefarious things in the past? I post this after having watched American Beauty tonight. by Fischer_Jones
Slightly off subject, but it reminds me of a topic I once chose for a paper. While her film, The Triumph of the Will is widely considered a piece of brilliant and artistic filmmaking, Leni Riefenstahl created it specifically to glamorize the Nazi Party.
