Reply to Is there a movie today that can nail a good sci-fi flick into present day like Terminator 2? by RSwoon
I feel like what you are asking for is pretty specific - has to be sci-fi but take place in current times. Most sci-fi is in the future because otherwise it wouldn’t make sense.
That being said. Things like Looper, War of the Worlds, The Day the Earth Stood Still or The Matrix all fit the criteria but I don’t think they are as good as T2, which is a masterpiece.

Bewildered looking cop: “leeets just say we are looking at all angles. Let us know if you hear anything”

What stores do you shop in that play anything more exciting than soft rock? The only places I’ve ever heard like punk, metal, or anything that may be stress enduring would be like record stores, skate shops, or places where that type of music is part of the culture/identity.

Suffered what a lot of shows suffer from - it seems the writers only had S1 figured out (and it was a good season) but then kind of had to do other seasons on the fly and it drops off a lot

I thought S2 was a noticeable decline but it was so weird it was still interesting
