I’m convinced that anybody who thinks Succession has next-level writing hasn’t actually watched or paid attention to a drama that’s actually good and well-written lmao. People who think that it’s next-level to dabble in the concept of money and its moral ambiguities must be incredibly boring, that’s some real surface level shit

All of these shows are really average at best and I think the praise people give them is some kind of attempt at accrediting this new era of television when really none of it even comes close to some of the best dramas of the 2000s. It’s so sad to watch people praise these shows when we’ve had so much better

I can’t think of a more brazenly corrupt group of people than those on the city councils of cities in the north shore. I’ve heard some really horrible stuff about Everett’s City Council as well. Nobody gives a shit either, because the north shore isn’t as appealing of a topic to discuss as something happening within inner Boston

Revere City Council is the saddest pair of people in charge of a city. One of them was a legitimate functioning drug addict who just recently died of an overdose - George Rotondo. Then you have the old racists like John Powers, the opportunist Jessica Giannino who turned her street in to a one-way so people wouldn’t drive on it, Anthony “immigrants breed like cockroaches” Zambuto… quote published in the Revere Journal for everyone to see. Fuck them all. The only reason they have a job is because the old townies vote for them like their life and identity depend on it

When Joe Gravellese challenged Jessica Giannino to a debate, he made an absolute fool of her. The city voted for her anyway. That’s Revere’s City Council.

I’ll never forget Good Times because that’s where I invited my whole class in elementary school to come for my birthday party and not a single person came. There’s me at those long tables near the entrance, crying uncontrollably in Good Times… good times… haha…

I think I have legitimate PTSD from being forced to work a retail job in downtown St. Aug during tourist season so that I could afford the obscene rent in the area. It has actually affected my ability to work retail jobs since. It never ends in that city either - you finish the summer weather, they disappear for two months then everyone would come flooding back in for Nights of Lights and shit up the place. Even in those two months, nobody shuts up about it being around the corner so there is never a true break. Even just typing this causes my body to stiffen up with how unbelievably difficult that time was on me, I wouldn’t wish those tourists upon anybody

Spot on. I lived in St. Augustine for a while and that place’s tourism is hell. I, a local resident, felt like a tourist attraction as they’d stare at me from the stupid tour trollies. There was just… so much of them… all littering, using up the place like an amusement park, having no regard for anything but themselves. It was honestly horrible. So glad I got out of there
