Yeah but the news stations know the suburbanites don’t wanna hear a daily dose of crime near them. They know the suburbanites wanna hear about the crime in the city proper. It helps them feel good about living outside the city. Benefiting from working or being in proximity to the city.. But being able to stay far enough to not have to care about the needs of the city.

Mad crime happens in the burbs and jersey townships but never leads or even gets reported. City always gets the shit report.

Yo but we have all kinds of bike lanes and “pavement enhancements”! We also have dog parks and beer gardens and axe throwing! The stuff of super intelligent society. Lemme tell ya…

I actually use an Apollo City scooter quite a bit friend. And I grew up riding my bike all over the city. We were taught that sharing the road doesn’t mean you can ride in the center of the street and slow up buses, trucks, cars, trolleys etc. The new influx interprets it as everyone should crawl at 10mph till they turn off of the street. People who claim to be super outgoing about using their bike or public transit for “most” of their commuting needs still seem to have brought their vehicles to town with them and, even though they may pay for a parking permit, just hoard the same parking spot for an inordinate amount of time. (Sometimes months!) Because a police vehicle or some other delivery vehicle, trash truck, or cab pulls over into the bike lane (usually in consideration of letting traffic pass more easily) doesn’t mean that vehicle should be kicked, spit on, or have some other mischief done to it while bikers/scooters ride by. (Yes this is a thing that happens more often than you’d think.) In the time it takes for some people to stop their bike, pull out their phone, take a photo, write some complaint, and then post it, they could have been blocks past the so called obstruction.
Its alarming any time a pedestrian or bike rider gets injured or killed in an accident. But when I observe more outrage and activism over further enhancing a comfortable and safe biking experience while anti-violence measures gets less energy.. While educating the city’s poor students gets less energy.. Idunno man.
It really has been great to see a lot of the basketball courts and athletic fields around town get long awaited makeovers. But sometimes it seems like ya can’t get the support you need to get the project backed by these newfangled neighborhood associations unless you offer a dog park as a bargaining chip. Or a cumbersome pavement “enhancement”…. Yeah we’ll fix the block but you gotta let us clog the artery. Hahaha. Its slick.

The bicycle should suck the automobile’s d!€k for bringing paved blacktop and asphalt roads into the mainstream with no cobblestones, brick pavers, wooden block pavers, and piles of horse manure everywhere bikes to exist on in the first place..

I’m thinking of a cover that seemed to have a photograph of a “typical” old South Philly Italian American lady. The title was something like “Is South Philly dying out?” Or something outrageous like that. Or something alluding to how South Philly was moving to jersey or whatever. Idunno. Like I said, I saw this cover on a page of many covers inside a relatively more recent philly mag that was laying around at a barbershop. This was some time before the pandemic too. After the reopening, they must’ve cleared out all their old magazines and I haven’t been able to dig it up. So now I’m like… What was that article even alluding too? If I’m accurate about the theme of the article, it seems like they were about 7-10 years too soon before white-flighters left us in droves. Unless I’m wrong.. So yeah just curious.
P.S. - Shout out to those of us who stayed and didn’t give in to blockbusting racist hysteria peddlers. We’re stronger and more diverse for it now. 💪🏼👍🏼
P.S. part II - I’m not calling Philadelphia Magazine racist hysteria peddlers. They were just doing a story. I was really referring to wild west days of Real Estate when the industry used to freak people out and get homeowners to sell out.

Does your standard water filter handle this contaminant? Or do we need to find something more robust? Also.. Can we fast track an executive order from some authority to require restaurants and food providers to have these more robust filters installed? If they even exist..?

I’ve done over 4500 trips in the past 5 years cuz. I’ve been more vocal about it in this past year as things are almost fully back to reopened (for the most part) and people seem to be soooo surprised at the wait times, the traffic, and you’d be shocked at some of the screenshots I’ve taken of messages from impatient riders who seem to make you wanna perform some magic trick and just appear before their eyes.

Love when I’m doing some Uber driving and the very same people who are vocal about delivery drivers and drivers waiting for riders “blocking” the side lane and I just KNOW you’re the same people ordering the food I’m delivering or the very same people asking whats taking me so long to get to you in reduced lane traffic… You all use delivery apps and call Uber/Lyft for rides. Very few of you actually bike or scooter to get around. You applaud evil ass PPA cockroaches writing tickets and you applaud bike lanes and bus lanes. But most of you are in the back of an Uber right now as you downvote and come up with some smart ass rebuttal. Stay hypocritical out there!
