Just one teeny tiny problem. They already have money. Like lots. And yet charge the riders. And yet have terrible service.

We also faced multiple group of teenagers harassing people near Newport area. Did not steal in our case, but had spray cans of foam spraying it all over people and running away.
What is up with the sudden increase in nuisance past few months?

Used to have same issues when I was taking cab to the office. Best is to cancel immediately anytime they are not TLC. Usually with 1 or 2 cancellations, you can get a TLC driver. (I remember seeing an option like “Find a different driver” on Lyft).
I have heard most TLC drivers live in NJ and keep roaming around JC so they can go to the city with a fare (we pay the toll).
Uber/Lyft should definitely fix it.

You can also take it a step further by shopping at the Microcenter in Paterson. 5% discount on their card + just 3.5% sales tax.

I tried them a couple of times, just out of the lack-of-wing-spots. They weren’t that good. Plus the location sucked. It was barely visible when you weren’t looking for it.

The keyme machines available there did not work for newport keys. So you’ll have better luck doing it at any local locksmith. There are a couple at NYC.

Leasing office. They usually give one per person, but you can get extra by paying.
Edit: Sorry. You can get extra fobs by paying, not keys. When we were more than 2 people, we had to duplicate the keys.

Oh boi!! We call cops “goons” in India. Relatively, this is nothing. Cops can get away with actual murders by planting evidence. They use their vehicles and drivers for personal errands. That’s okay because the local gas station WILL fill their tanks for free.

Tragic news. May she RIP. I had witnessed something similar few months back at Washington blvd. Hope her friends/family are okay.

Yes. When we lived in newport buildings, our electricity bill was 650-750 for 3 people. It’s usually due to the older heaters and bad insulation.

I was driving down Washington blvd, the aholes blocked the entire street. Broke a dozen laws and basically didn’t follow any of the traffic signals. It was honestly scary, especially with the amount of cars in that group.

For Newport rentals, they do rent out to people with no income or credit history. They ask for 6 months of advanced rent payment while leasing. I’m pretty sure most other leasing places will have similar process.
The other option is to have someone else with income be the guarantor. Most places here ask that the guarantors have an annual income of 40x the rent.

I think the primary motivation for India is the dumping of old tech as mentioned in the article:

These have been getting lot of traction lately. If you can build a nice looking one ensuring good quality, you can probably flip these for quite some profit. But it’s not a quick cash thing.

Anybody would let it go if the driver just admitted the mistake or apologized. I don’t feel any empathy for a “human” who doesn’t have it.

People would be fine if it was a fucking bicycle or a pedestrian bridge. Not a $20 toll road.
