HobbyTown USA at broad and gaskins has tumbler supplies! I make jewelry out of tumbled rocks and glass and that's where I buy my media and grit.

Seconded. Any coffee shop that also sells barbecue is a winner in my book.

I'm not. Started a new job that I'm taking the bus to, so had a 10 minute wait for the bus than a half mile walk. An umbrella helped, but my legs from the knees down are soaked, and I'm probably going to get trench foot from wet socks.

Yeah but those places have higher median wages to match, usually. As it stands the cost of housing here, while cheap compared to a lot of places, still well out-strips a lot of native Richmonders' earnings. This is only being exacerbated by remote workers from out of state and NoVa coming in with their "modest" budgets of $500k+.

If it's a VCU Health badge you can take it to the security office in main hospital and they'll make sure it gets to the right person.

I'll second Rowe fencing. Took down an old chain link fence and put up a new wooden one in two days, and were significantly cheaper than three 2 or 3 other companies that we got quotes from.

I see Dr. Adler at the Schrader Ln location and love her. I will say that they can be a little pushy at the practice about getting additional services (esp. Invisaline), but they've never talked down to me or judged me for saying no.

I think we're talking around each other. The city buy back was like slapping a bandaid on a sucking chest wound. There is a lot of well-researched documentation out there demonstrating buy-backs as one of the least effective means of gun control.

The ala carte nitrous is seriously a godsend. I'll gladly pay out the cost of it means not having panic attacks before, during, and after every appointment.

Almost like those don't actually reduce crime rates or something.

River Run Dental is pretty much based around this. I went there for the first time in April after not going to the dentist is probably 5 years for the same reason, and they were great for the whole process.

I see an optometrist with VCU Health at Stony Point. Their glaucoma test uses light instead of the air puff. Alternatively you can always just request to not have the test done.

Yeah, I'm super duper straight passing, but even little things like gasp wearing multiple colors were cause for concern from my coworkers. My manager used painted nails in her reasoning for not hiring a guy that we interviewed. Also like someone upthread said about vsp, just TONS of normalized harassment.

Yep. I don't know what department you're in, but I left the state largely because of sexist and homophobic attitudes in the workplace. The state definitely has a lot of "traditional" mindsets still kicking around. Wish I could give advice beyond just leave, but that's what I did.
