Possession was reduced because it's a possession crime, not a violent one:

> One change that’s drawn outsized attention is a reduction in the maximum penalty for being a “felon in possession”—that is, possessing a gun when you have a prior felony conviction. The RCCA drops the max for the charge from 15 years to four, for several reasons. First, being a felon in possession is not a crime of violence. It applies when an individual merely owns a gun, even if it’s sitting unused in their closet. If they ever carry or use it, the penalties shoot up dramatically. Second, no court hands down a 15-year sentence for possession alone, because it’s wildly disproportionate to the offense; the vast majority of people are sentenced to far less than four years.

It's an even more interesting ruling because the Arizona Supreme Court basically "nuh uh'd" an earlier USSC ruling under the claim that the ruling wasn't sufficiently different from precedent, even though the USSC ruling had negated an earlier, similar ruling elsewhere. AZSC said, "oh, it's not substantial because it modifies state law not federal law", and USSC just smacked them down on it. I'm honestly surprised that there was a -4 in this one because even the conservative justices probably don't want state courts negating their rulings.

I went to a Colbert show in NYC and there was a seriously unusual level of security getting into the theater - everyone got wanded, security (USSS) with dogs, etc. I was seriously confused until they finished taping (with Sean Penn) and he introduced Jimmy Carter as a pre-taped interview that they'd air later.

A notable fuckup was a grant of immunity to Oliver North when testifying to Congress about Iran-Contra. He successfully overturned his conviction because the prosecution couldn't show that they absolutely didn't use his public testimony in preparing the ironclad case against him.

Another one is the medic who was supposed to testify against Eddie Gallagher, and was granted immunity, only to claim that he himself did the killing that Gallagher was accused of.

Most PEV battery packs are just 18650s in combination of series/parallel, e.g. the most common e-skateboard pack is 3s10p (3 series of 10 parallel batteries, usually Samsung 30q or 25r 18650s). Add a voltage regulation board and you've got a PEV battery.

I know some DIY battery-makers and they're crazy like lacrosse goalies. But it's way cheaper to make a 4s12p battery that can do 35mph with 40 mile range than to buy one.
