Yeah, that’s true - the stop push buttons are almost always red, I was trying to remember where I’d seen indicator lights to match those goofy buttons from the OP’s remote. Certainly not what I would have expected on a consumer device…

Actually this is getting more common on industrial motor control centers - a red light indicating on, as it is potentially dangerous, and a green light indicating off, the safest position for a motor.
