Stamford has changed so much from what I grew up with. It has become and is still slowly becoming a yuppie paradise. Not hating, just saying.

Go up north and Trumbull has a very well rated school system and is diverse income wise. A lot of parents that work for the stamford public school system at that government center *live and send their kids to Trumbull schools.

I went through SPS and would say they are not good. I went to magnet schools for elem. and middle and would say you are spot on with your description. For me to say SPS are not good and that aligning with how they are rated may be a coincidence or may not be but it is ultimately based solely on my opinion having gone through the system.

First, never ask stamford people about municipalities other than stamford. They have a tendency to look down their nose at anywhere that isn’t a stamford. Lol

Second, I would look at municipalities near BPT if that’s what you’re thinking. Like Trumbull, Stratford, or Fairfield.

I’m sure others in here will offer great advice as well.

Lots of factors play into a schools rating, as I’m sure you are aware. It would be the opposite here though, whereas big cities typically have lower school ratings.

Lots of good information here. Only thing I can add is that stamford public schools are rated low for the area. Try to get the kiddos into a magnet school program like toquam, rogers, Scofield.

Yes, exactly. The stamford market spiked exponentially from 2020-2022. Areas that were in the 350k-400k range in 2018 are now in the 600k-650k range, roughly.

I respect it! I was born and raised in stamford. Harbor point was such a wild concept when first conceived, that area used to be known as the South End and in the 90s/early 00s you didn’t go down there, we did, but people wouldn’t.

Sounds about right and on par with what I’ve heard. Wasn’t it more harbor point/south end and not downtown though?

Stamford downtown was a lounge scene in the early ‘00’s and all the bars slowly changed to what they are now. Rightfully so as they have to keep up with the times and demographic.

Something for teenagers to do. Bring back something like the old Varsity Club. Somewhere for them to hang out. It’s all about the new restaurants and more apartments. What about the kids/teens?
