We also moved from Houston! We're having to... recalibrate expectations for the food scene here, lol.

But we'll check those out, thanks!

This area has some of the best Italian food in the country. Try Cafe Silvium.

Moved here from Dallas. Also recommend Cantina Mexicana for your taco fix!

If you're talking about Mexican food or BBQ specifically, then I agree. But in terms of overall food, NYC and Houston are in completely different leagues.

Correct. Stamford is top notch for food too. Def better Mexican but overall we have more variety and better takes than Houston

El charrito has great tamales- don’t be phased by their location in the mall, they used to be on east main

I haven’t found any good authentic Mexican food here. Coming from California, I never realized how spoiled we were with great Mexican/South American food until coming to the northeast. It must exist, but I haven’t found it yet.

We have plenty of Mexicans here. I agree with you, it must exist.

You might have better luck with visiting one of the food trucks on Long Wharf Drive in New Haven. I know that's 40 mins away but it's a lot of fun and the food trucks are very authentic.
