I'm guessing you've not worked on hardware platforms before. They do, indeed, get old. They break, sometimes fairly quickly. They will need to be maintained for their entire lifespan.

I think you've nailed the types of robots we're likely to get. They will likely be scraping data and serving up ads like every other piece of technology that tech companies like to deploy.

A month..maybe. opinions here seem overly optimistic in general, but I do enjoy reading some of the viewpoints.
