I went there when it reopened around a year ago. It was insane and the people are so great. The tour was FREE and they served a potluck meal afterward for goodness sake. (Bring some cash to leave a donation.)

Everett? Nice.
I’m in the humble town of McConnellsburg.

That’s absolutely what I would do:
Find a way to get out of Breezewood just for entertainment sake. Go back for the car later.
I’m 20ish minutes away. Wish I could help without having to worry about Stranger Danger…

Yeah, it is pretty slow compared to modern movies, but there are lots of other ways to measure it than that:
-Interest in film/music history
-Interest in a particular actor
-Family tradition

There’s often a bureaucratic delay after social movements… I wouldn’t be surprised to hear that 10 years passed before a law or process actually changed—but to your point, it’s hard to imagine such blatant segregation happening so recently.

Nice. No one in my friend group had heard of White Christmas (the movie it came from) at last year’s Christmas movie night, but now I feel justified in choosing to show it. :P

Reply to New car failed inspection. Was pressured to pay about $1k in repairs to pass. I took my car to the dealership instead and it passed inspection by mandyaffogato
I’ve been suspicious of so many interactions I’ve had with auto mechanics… most recently, a “Mr. Tire” told me my car was dangerous to drive unless I let them make certain repairs—but the friggin guy never told me how much it would cost. I focused on the danger and panicked, saying, “ok well it sounds like there isn’t really a choice here. Do it.” When I got the 4-digit price tag after it was all done, and realized I was never told before hand, I complained and they admitted the guy I talked to should have told me. I argued with them about how unprofessional it was. They gave me 2 coupons for free oil changes. I paid and left mad.
I am fascinated to hear there’s something you can actually do about the deceptive scoundrels out there. Good luck!

I dunno. There’s only one piece of information to share. I have a hard time imagining innocent mistake.

It’s so weird to just have that a basement. Couldn’t have a cooler Halloween party trick.
As I told the owner, I would think of it as the worlds biggest wine cellar. Cave/wine-tasting tour? Drunkenly stumbling in the dark may not be the best idea, but it still sounds fun.
