Hollidaysburg didn’t get a call, they locked things down because of Altoona getting the call. But at least those kids didn’t have to look at a full-sized Pride flag while they were in lock down.

What the heck is going on in Clearfield County with all of these public servants getting arrested? No worries though, he will get re-elected as long as he has an (R) beside his name.

State College is generally accepting, but I’d recommend avoiding the areas around there, specifically Blair, Cambria, and Bedford Counties.

Yep, sure is. And I feel like there was another more recent story along the same lines but I couldn’t find anything. I know some good people in that town, but there are some pretty odd ducks as well.

Hell, I’m just glad to see Curwensville in the news for something other than citizens being arrested for “sex with animals”. I wish I was making that up.

Trust me, Curwensville doesn’t have any form of an “internal affairs” department.

M’eh. Just keep driving. At one time, the games were fun and they had a lot of entertainment between innings. Now it is just kind of a blah experience with a “here’s that actor from a 10 year old obscure TV series” celebrity night thrown in every once in a while.

Agreed. “Altoona Pizza” is just a meme that a few local businesses are trying to capitalize off of in their final days. However, “Altoona Hotel Pizza” was a legitimate thing and is what these memes are based off of. The Altoona Hotel did in fact serve pizza like that for years prior to its burning down maybe 10 years ago.

Yes, I went through the process of improving the home’s insulation prior to installing the HP water heater. HP Water heating is using about 50-60 more kWh in winter months than it was in the summer. Also using an air-source HP for general heating.

Regardless of what this guy says, I installed a HP hot water heater in my basement this past summer and I'm saving big bucks. My previous electric water heater was probably using 30-40% of my monthly electric bill. With the HP, my electric bills have probably halved (even considering recent price hikes). Sure, it will be a few years before I break even, but I think it is worth it, especially with the price of electricity increasing as it has been.

Nailed on the head. The mainline from Philly to Pittsburgh has a fascinating history and most of it happened well before SC became a “thing”.

The Civil Rights Movement happened in the 1950s and 60s. I wouldn’t consider that “late 20th century”. Regardless, it would still be odd that a northern community would be legally segregating public cemeteries even up to that point.

How? Wouldn’t that be “early 20th century”?

Wait - So Shippensburg didn’t have at public cemetery open to African Americans until the late 1900’s? Like sometime around 1985 they changed their minds about that?
