I think Mr. Hoover was trying to say that the amount of cow shit we have methaning out is not natural, it’s because of our industry. So it’s an offshoot of human activity. The more better solution would be to raise fewer cows rather than try and deal with their emissions. Yes, you can whatabout the shit out of this, just trying to make his point a little more clearly.

I agree with you here. The article isn’t clear on what it means by that but it would be crazy if they built this as a single phase AC electrical system. If that were true they should be more clear about it and explain why/how.
Also look at the sets of three power lines coming away from it in the first picture. And transmission lines in the background.

I read something recently about some startups that were taking CO2 and hydrogen and processing them into liquid fuels. Obviously that adds cost but would be much easier to handle. Even just going to methane would make it a lot easier to use with existing infrastructure.

I’m not trying to die on this hill, but just throwing the cow shit in a digester doesn’t capture all their emissions. They burp and fart too. Deep decarbonization will either require dialing back beef/dairy production or massive offsets. Probably both.
BTW I’m not poo pooing the poo poo choo choo.
