I live in the lower part of Warwick Neck, you get used to the sound and most of the time do not even hear it. Once I lived on the other side of Confreda Farm and it was not intrusive, but noticeable.

I have to wash the West side of my house yearly as the particulate matter from the planes is noticeable...

I was a kid in the 50's and walked to school every day. Mom was busy taking care of younger siblings. No school busses. In grammar school it was 2 miles round trip, in HS it was 4 miles round trip.

No big deal, we just did it... we weren't barefoot, we did wear galoshes in the snow & rain.

Later had a paper route and never missed a delivery.... it was what it was.

Boy Scouts sell "lands End Popcorn" , and get 50% of what they sell for their Camp Fund. GS sell cookies in the cold outside Lowe's and get $.25 a box for their camp fund. Keebler makes mucho bucks off of these kids.

When I come across GS selling cookies, I give them $5.00, and don't take any cookies.. the playing field is uneven.

Told you last week my beliefs, you disagreed with my points, no need to rehash the same old.same old again. The Judeo- Christian POV would disagree with you most homeless have fallen through the proverbial "safety net", most need a multi service intervention that is unique to their needs. But does not exist...

Every person is basically a good human being, these folks have a whole host of medical, psychological and sometimes addiction issues whose needs are often difficult to deal with. As a society we try to fit square pegs into round holes, it doesn't always work that well.

An issue is funding. I was involved in the deinstitutionalization efforts in the 80's. When they downsized Medical Center & Zambarano the money was supposed to follow the to the community to meet their needs, it didn't .

The money followed the Developmentally Disabled folks when they closed Ladd due to parent advocacy, the homeless do not have advocates.

Suggest folks read James O'Connell book, "Stories from The Shadows," for humanizing insight into homelessness. O'Connell is a MD who comes from Newport, he now is a leader in Boston's homeless effort.

There are no easy or one sized answers to this need, most have complicated long term issues. Then there is the NIMBY attitude that prevails. Need to keep in mind that they are all human beings not political commodities.

I used to eat there almost weekly never any obvious indication of any prostitution going on, not saying it wasn't.

For us just got sick of the rising prices and sick of sushi. Then there is the political aspect of all of this, as the major provider of sushi is a company run by the Unification Church (aka loonie moonies). The Unification church is notoriously right wing, they founded and fund the Washington Times which was founded solely to discredit the Democratic party. When you eat sushi you help fund the political activities of that church.

There are unenforced Fed tax laws that dictate in exchange for not talking about politics in church they can get an exemption from taxes. That is enforced seldom, unfortunately.
