You’re making a huge assumption that these technologies will result in unemployment with no actual evidence. It could just as easily turn out that instead of using current “manual” framework stacks to build apps, SWEs adapt to use an AI stack and just build more apps better and faster.
I’m all for UBI if it turns out it’s actually needed because we ended up creating cornucopia machines. But while unemployment is single digits its pretty silly to call for it.

Be a plumber (or similar trade) and save/invest your money. They make good money and It’s very unlikely that we will have durable dexterous mobile AI powered robots that can do the job of a plumber anytime soon. I’d bet a lot of money that it will be one of the last high paying “standard” jobs replaced.

That’s way scarier. Protecting elevator operator and horse drawn carriage driver jobs from being replaced is dumb. If your job can be automated away, it should be. Most jobs suck.
If unemployment becomes an issue there are things like UBI that can be used. Technology has been promising a reduction in the amount of work required for like a century but we’re working just as much as ever. If it finally starts delivering on that promise we should get the hell out of the way.

You have a very recent view of left and right. Communism’s body count is evidence against your idea of leftists always being empathetically motivated, fair, or interested in harm avoidance. Most ideologies become dangerous at their extremes. It’s not something inherently present in conservatism but missing from leftist or other ideologies.
