Haven't been so I can't vouch, but I've got the same gym attitude and car situation. Been considering Retro Fitness on Garfield AVe. in Bayonne. It's just on the city line with a big parking lot, so seems easy enough to get to.

Live in Bergen Lafayette with a car as well. I actually like the Stop & Shop in Bayonne—quick to get to thanks to 185 and 440 (although I guess that depends where in BL you are). Not insane like Shoprite. Good selection of stuff.

Second the Chengdu recommendation. I'm still tickled that I can get dim sum delivered to my door. Also highly recommend their hot and sour soup—it's actually hot and sour and super tasty, not just a gloopy glob.
