That's interesting. Do you have a link to his (Ennis) story?
edit: there is a little bit more here https://www.check-six.com/Crash_Sites/Fw190-Hoover-1945.htm

I have to wonder what happened to the two guys he left behind when he flew off in the stolen plane. Great story though, thanks for sharing op.

and it's nasty propaganda tool The Epoch Times. Granted they spread a ton of anti vaccine propaganda during covid so likely killed off a bunch of their supporters but I still could not financially support them in any way.

Oh man I've been to Armando's. Hooker central. And the only time I've stumbled upon someone firing a handgun at someone else was around the corner. Didn't stick around long. Good food, scary neighborhood.

I would recommend parking at Post Office Square. Weekday night parking is $9 I don't think you'll find anything cheaper and there is always plenty of spaces. I usually grab dinner somewhere between PO square and the Garden before the game, lot's of choices.

My best guess is Jupiter but I really don't know. Sorry!

It's tempting to suggest Jupiter and it's moons but you would not have been able to see an irregular shape of anything near Jupiter with a small telescope. Where the smaller objects as bright as the main object? How fast were the small objects moving? Could you see movement minute by minute?

I am sure I can't provide you with any information on what you saw but I am curious. Can you describe the asteroid like rocks more? Did they appear to be attached to the glowing object? How did they appear different from the glowing object?

My understanding is the only measurable effect on the pair is Dimorphos's orbit around Didymos is slightly changed (well really they are both moving around the center of mass but I don't know where that is). I don't think their orbit around the sun has changed.
