I think no one really understood what the white lotus was about in season 1 and now that they know it’s just a fun satire it has a much broader audience

It was a poorly crafted attempt at a satire of upper-middle class 'white' American culture, but ultimately ended up both cruel and simplistic, in the sense that what could have been an interesting perspective became muddled and trite.
