I live in Fairmount, and nothing compares to walking down the neighborhood to the Parkway, to Rittenhouse, for the farmer’s market in the early fall, grabbing bites to eat here and there and enjoying them in the park while people watching.

Or, my fiancé and I used to do what we called “procurement day” in Italian Market, where we’d specifically order ingredients from small businesses in the area and enjoy bites from places like South Philly Barbacoa between our pickups. Then go home and cook together.

Or, hiking around Forbidden Drive with a stop off at Valley Green Inn or the Cedars House Cafe.

Damn… this city has really grown on me the past few years, for all its problems.
