Yes it's public land so it should be used for some mixed use developments, not for some baseball team whose fans mostly take the LIRR and subway to go to anyways.

The park lot can often get filled, they also use that land to generate a ton of revenue for the city and the park.
It’s also built on a swamp, you’re not building much there.

More green space can help against flooding and drainage issues. I think a giant field of green would be more beneficial than a parking lot imo
