Looking to book a weekend in June with my wife and our 4 month old. So far I’ve looked into Brigantine and OCNJ- both places seem good. Thanks in advance for any advice!

Down in Cape May we enjoy The Cove beach with our daughter. The water drops off a lot slower and there's usually shallow water tidal pools to play in as well.

Cape May has a lot of other things to do besides the beach as well. The Cape May County Zoo is great, and free (you can provide a donation.) The Cape May Mall is very stroller friendly and has lots of shops. Tons of restaurants, bars, breweries, and our personal favorite Nauti Spirits Distillery down there as well.

Only go to brigantine if the wind is coming off the ocean. If you go and the wind is coming off the land you'll get to meet an insect called a Greenhead. Those suckers hurt when they bite and I don't think an 8 month old would appreciate it. I love brig but those greenheads suck.

OC is a good beach and the boardwalk is great with families but it can get crowded unless you go further down past the boardwalk, definitely visit when your little one is older. Another good option is Margate/Ventnor. You will still need a beach pass and I 'never' went to the beach right on the border between Margate and Ventnor right where the boardwalk ends to avoid getting checked for beach tags when I was younger.

Honestly this might sound crazy, but Atlantic City with a infant is actually not bad. We took our baby down a couple times before he was mobile. All the casinos are designed for wheelchairs, so pushing a stroller around is super easy and the boardwalk is massive. Also all the casinos have pack and plays if you want one from guest services.

Avalon by the sea and egg harbor are very low key, family friendly. (Much less going on at night, less noise) but they're expensive.

Also they say egg harbor isn't named for the rotten egg smell that comes at low tide because of the sulfur content in the marshes but I don't believe them.

Ocean Beach, Lavallette, Seaside Park, Point Pleasant… I love the vibe of Ocean Beach 3 everyone is down to earth and kind, Colonial Bakery sustains me through the summer

Happy to help! My only other advice is to practice taking down the beach tent before going to the beach. Depending on which one you have, some of them are a little tricky. I got a face full of sand and was very frustrated the first time I had to take down the tent for my little ones.

Ocean Grove. Very low-key. Beaches are very family-friendly and accessible. Good lifeguards. Only catch is the beach doesn’t open until Noon on Sundays because you’re supposed to be in church. 😉

I grew up going to Avon beach, they have a great cove. It’s often referred to as Diaper Beach because there’s so many babies and old people 🤣

North Wildwood is definitely more family centered, but in my experience island beach state park can be a little quieter and less crowded than wildwood

7 presidents is pretty good for newborns. Lots of facilities to use if needed like bathrooms and snack stand.

Can also take advantage of the parking and walk over to the boardwalk with your stroller.
