Yup. I think this is why. Also, are they really vaccinating my pet? Was my dog weighed? We’re the ears checked? Was a temperature taken? Who the hell knows because I’m not in the room. How are they handling my dogs are they being gentle? It just a matter of time before some vet gets caught defrauding pet owners during covid because no one was actually in the room.

Even when they let you come back to the room, some services are done by removing the pet to a specialty room while we still wait in the exam room. If a vet really wants to defraud you, they can inject your pet with saline, instead of a vaccine or medicine.

I don’t necessarily think they’d do something malicious but there is a lot less accountability because when your pet comes out they’re like everything’s fine! Even though they didn’t check everything and the vet dodges any conversation with you. I feel for vets because they genuinely care for animals and they deal with a lot, and I know some pet owners are absolute assholes, but at the end of the day I am generally the best advocate for MY pet and this care model removes me from the conversation. This is just my experience. I would feel more comfortable if they were better at communicating, maybe that’s the issue.
