Think about it. A detail examination of a fading star with mental health issues with the whole world watching as he crumbles. A man that has become an island. Like The Wrestler or The Whale.

Sounds more like trashy Lifetime material to me. With Cuba Gooding Jr. playing Smith, lol.

Imagine the stress and introspection the moments after he just slapped the hist of the Oscars in front of a audience of 150 million. How do you cope with it?

I don't think that'd be a good path to go down given a lot of people despise Smith for what he did and wouldn't sympathise with his 'introspection'. And it'd take a heck of a brave filmmaker to take up that perspective.

That's exactly why it wouldn't. Getting all armchair Freudian about a real celebrity's scandals is generally the purview of trashy reality TV.

Is it? I mean some of the most decorated films are about real celebrity's scandals.
