My friend told me that his little brother threw a fit after his mom got him a computer that couldn't run on 300 fps so I made this meme

She should take it from him. He doesn't deserve it, nor does he understand the pricing and that he would need a 300hz monitor

Yeah, but sometimes parents like to over spoil their kid. Knew a guy that didn't work at all being 21 yo because his parents were giving him money, phones and everything he wanted, he was really immature despite his age...

There's definitely a correlation between someone getting everything they want and being immature. Some people were never told no, and it shows.

21 years are more than enough to grow the fuck up.

Or she should teach him that it doesn't matter as long as it's over 60. Teach the kid that it's not worth being butthurt about.

And that there will be no perceptible difference between a 300 Hz monitor and a 144 Hz. For most humans not even to a 90 Hz or 75 Hz…

Bruh. You never had one with more than 60Hz, right?

yldf t1_jae08au wrote

I do, as a matter of fact. And if you read my comment I said nothing about 60 Hz. There’s a limit what humans can perceive. That limit is for many people clearly above 60 Hz, so 75 Hz or 90 Hz can be a real improvement. There might be circumstances where 120 Hz or 144 Hz might be perceptible, but beyond that, we’re getting in the realm of fairy tales or good marketing, but away from reality.

You need to raise those limits. You can even research this at home if you have a high refresh rate monitor. Its very easy... Theres not day and night difference between 144hz and 240, but its there, some notice more of a difference than others, and that causes arguments because both are right in their own little bubble of reality.

Dude I'm over here on a laptop running portal 2 at 45 FPS I don't get why people need so many frames. If you need a huge amount of frames to enjoy something than I'm sorry that you aren't able to enjoy stop motion animation

just put frame limiter to 30 fps. makes game run a bit smoother in my experience

What. I had to literally build my own pc when my parents gave me money and i felt so thankful. Its like getting a new car to adults ig (im a computer nerd), so it felt lifechanging even tho it can like run cod at like not more than 80 fps(which is still a lot to me).

My oldest son is this way.......cant let go of the fact that he doesnt have to run at 300 fps but insist's on asking us to upgrade his computer so it can.

Then there is me, who saved for a year to be able to afford an upgrade on sale.

Pretty cool upgrade but I run the Nvidia program as I get 270+fps on some games for my 165hz monitor.
