Hi friends. I currently live in Paulus hook and like to run along the river walk in the mornings (usually while it’s still dark). I’m moving to the Grove street area next month and was y’all might have route suggestions. Nothing crazy, just a 30min jog in the morning but I assume some streets are a better idea than others (mostly from a getting run over by a car perspective, but I am a woman running alone). Any tips ?

Down Jersey Ave and into LSP is your best bet. But you can also easily still run down to the waterfront!

Yeah I'm in JSQ and run Montgomery down Columbus and then go to hoboken.

Or I do loops around liberty or Lincoln Park

30min also is highly dependent on pace.

I’d beeline to the waterfront on Columbus if I was you. Drivers don’t stop at stop signs around here so it gets dangerous running side streets.

Follow Columbus to Exchange Pl and follow the river walk or follow Jersey Ave down to the park although I don’t know if I want to go into the park when it’s dark and few people are around.

My go-to route was always Columbus to the waterfront and weasel my way back up Grand and into the park. Out to the 911 memorial and back is 5miles.

Down Columbus to the waterfront is a pretty safe bet. You can also run up Erie and do laps of Hamilton Park. I've seen many people doing endless HP laps.

That sounds so incredibly boring, but I guess if you live nearby and can't go too far away from home for whatever reason you have to make do with what you've got.

From Grove down Jersey into LSP (you can slip in along the canal to run in the marina), down to the Hudson, around the train station and back via the path along Audrey Zapp, and up Jersey ave - is about a 30 min route (3.5 miles, give or take).

LSP is good.

Up montgomery, down Newark back to grove will put you at 3 miles ~ 25-30 mins + you get an incline/decline

I go Jersey Ave ->right on 10th st after Hamilton Park -> cross Marin (this is the worst part of the run, just eye down drivers and make them stop) -> Around the Ellipse building, then waterfront all the way up to Jersey Ave again. Depending on how many piers you take this is a 4-6 mile run. The only sketchy parts are the aformentioned Marin, crossing Christopher Columbus, and Grand st., but with enough experience youll get it.

I used to really like to do a figure 8, run up Newark, right onto Palisade, right onto Hoboken Ave, take Cole’s street to York, right onto Warren, left onto Dudley, run the waterfront till Columbus then up Columbus.
