Metal gear solid 3 snake eater. Perfect blend of stealth and action, spectacular jungle environment, killer story, awesome mechanics, amazing bosses..

Elder Scrolls : Skyrim. You can play multplie times with diff character and different builds. Even after exploring a lottt you still find new things. Also bugs are hilarious, sorry features

Goldeneye. The first perfect game.

Resident Evil Village. Loved everything about it; the story, characters, scenery, gunplay, environments, atmosphere, etc. are incredible to me, and as a person who jumps at everything, this hit right in the sweetspot. Not to mention, forcing myself to play through RE7 for the first time (which was far scarier) just before I got around to RE8 made it all the more satisfying and enjoyable.

Beyond psyched that the DLC came out.

The original Metroid. I only played on Atari and Intellivision prior to that. Metroid introduced saves, exploration, and backtracking when a new item was obtained. I even made a map on graph paper because no internet in 1987 and Nintendo Power was not an option. At this stage in gaming, Metroid changed everything for me.

Witcher 3 for me.

It has a great story, but it is the characters that truly sells it all. So many interesting people and monsters to meet throughout the game. And the game has the best side quests ever made in any open world game. And the two DLC packs are how all DLC should strive to be like, so much value for what you get.

I know many do not like the combat in this game, but I just love it. It feals just so fitting to how I pictured Geralt fighting when I read the books. It is like a dance of blades and magic, with pirouettes and brutal finishers.

The game is absoloutly gorgous to look at, even today I think it is one of the best looking games ever made, not just the fidelity, but the games art design. No game has immersed me as much into its world as Witcher 3 did. It is just something about walking through a village, seeing children play in the street, a mother holding her baby in her arms and people just going about their day.. It all just feels so alive to me.

The soundtrack in the game is also perfection. I remember the first time I went to Skellige and The Fields of Ard Skellig track started. I remember just riding slowly through the countryside with that amazing music and being mesmerized by the gorgous landscapes, it is one of my favorite gaming moments ever.

Is the game perfect? No, no game is perfect and Witcher 3 has some issues. They ruined the controler motion in the game with an update, but thankfully there is a mod that fixes this on PC. The game also has terrible balance when it comes to the loot in the game. So many legendary weapons are just beyond useless and I really wish they had some form of transmog system in place.

There is also some pacing issues with side quests, and normally I hate level scaling in games. But from a lore perspective, it makes no sense that Geralt meets some monster and it is impossible for him to take it on because of your level. Mods fixes most of these problems though.

Overall it is my favorite game and I can't to replay it again when the remaster comes out.

Resident evil 4 and new vegas are tied. When I'm burned out and got nothing I want to play I'll usually end up loading one of them up

Either Super Metroid or Zelda: A Link to the Past. I loved the originals but these games really perfected their respective formats.

For modern games I can't think of any that I enjoyed more than the original TLOU or Uncharted 4.

Breath of the Wild is my favorite. It gave me that same thrill of adventure/exploration that I hadn’t felt since the original Zelda in the 80’s. The quiet of Hyrule felt much like the quite I experienced when I thruhiked the Appalachian Trail. It has nearly endless permutations of how you can play.

Tekken Tag Tournament, fun in the arcade and fun on PS2.

Impossible to pick one. I like most action adventure, rpg, open world games. Those are my favorite, preferably with interesting exploration, I like to explore... and to slay bandits.

Bloodborne, it's what introduced me to the souls series and it came into my life during a very stressful and very hard time of it, it's also just an amazing game with great gameplay and a fun challenge.

RDR2 for the same reasons as OP.

Absolutely love Bloodborne, and the original Demon's Souls. In fact, i constantly try to find games that just might hit that spot again.

Arma 3 exile or epoch mod… easy to make friends in game and almost always beginner friendly. When servers are busy you get good pvp and when it’s slower you get good time to run mission or work on base building. I have the most time on that game by far. Can’t play enough now to maintain a base and fully experience it the way I used to but it changed gaming for me

Animal Crossing for the Gamecube. It captured what the sequels failed to include: the experience of moving to a new place, feeling lonely, not in control of your environment (New Horizons, I’m looking at you), a slowly but painfully building real friendships with the townsfolk.

Vampire the masquerade bloodlines. I'm a sucker for good writing and supernatural things.

Persona 5. The characters are amazing and feel like family.

Outcast (1999) is my personal favourite. An epic open world adventure, far ahead of its time, beautiful to the senses and with a magical soul to it that masks almost all of its flaws.

Black Ops 2 and Fallout New Vegas are always fighting for the top spot in my head. I love Black Ops 2 for it’s story and gameplay and I love Fallout New Vegas for its story and it’s ability to give you so many choices on how to play.

Halo 3. The campaign, multiplayer and features were all perfect to me. Even with its huge ups and downs, WoW is a close second purely down to the great memories and people I've met playing it.

doom eternal. i liked how violent and visceral it was.

I've played way too many games to single out one as favorite

I would not say of all time since I dont know if I will play a game in the future that I will love more. But currently my favorite Videogame is "Fuga Melodies of Steel" Its a 20 houer long turn based JRPG about a groupe of animal children that go on a quest to save there families.

I bought it this year in march. I played through it 10 times alrady. 6 of those where back to back with a few days between finishing a playthrough and begining a new one.

I was lukewarm towards the characters at first but they have grown on me ALOT. Now they are my favorite JRPG Party.

It has the best most fun turn based combat I ever experienced. I like it even more then the combat of Persona 5 and Final Fantasy X and I love those games aswell.

The music is beautiful. "Flower on the Trails" is my favorite piece of Videogame music.

The game apeals to my inner child. With its Disney or Dreamworks like cute talking animal characters and its Digimon like somewhat darker more serious story it feels like a playable kids cartoon/anime and I love that feeling.

Ratchet & Clank (PS2). Still to this day is very fun to play, even tho is a bit aged, the game is full of memorable characters, the various planets feels alive and very different from one another. But most of all, the world building was amazing with the different cutscenes like commercial, news report, documentaries that tells you more about this universe.

Battlefield 3. Plenty of progression, customization, dlc, maps etc. Fun multiplayer, fun campaign and fun co-op. Everyone I knew had the game so I always had a full squad. Plus, I was really really good at it.

All these kids. Lol. This question is impossible for us old timers. Do you know how many amazing games have been released since 8bit N.E.S. ? It's impossible to compare. Mario Bros 3 and MegaMan were my jam. My cousin even had a legit copy of the original MegaMan. They were awesome. Then things went 16bit. Mortal Kombat for Genesis and Starfox for Super N.E.S., and let's not forget O.G. Mario Kart. Then you've got the Xbox and PS1. Halo for Xbox is the easy go-to. PS1 is different for everyone. I fell in love with FFVII, but when VIII came out the opening sequence blew my little mind. Not to mention all the old school pc games. O.G. Unreal Tournament. Age of Empires. Galactic Civ, Sid Meier's Civilization, freaking Alpha Centauri. It's impossible to compare old gen games to new gen games. Two entirely different animals.

I feel it's a bit childish to claim to have a favorite game/song/movie/book. It's all very fluent.
