The original Metroid. I only played on Atari and Intellivision prior to that. Metroid introduced saves, exploration, and backtracking when a new item was obtained. I even made a map on graph paper because no internet in 1987 and Nintendo Power was not an option. At this stage in gaming, Metroid changed everything for me.
