Reddit makes images less colorful until you click on them! These are the burgers I love to make, and they are so simple!

Using ground chuck, egg, oil, and seasoning (salt, pepper, garlic), I form patties and cook it with onions and bacon on a cast iron grill pan. These flavors seep into the patty and give it more flavor. After cooking the first side for a few minutes (I eyeball it), I flip and cook by adding butter and cover with the metal mixing bowl I used for the meat. This allows the inside to cook and the butter to melt and seep. Then I'll put cheese and cover again to let melt. After that, remove the patty and let sit for a minutes in a bowl covered with foil.

Plate with fries (I'll admit, the fries are just Idaho Grown frozen bag of fries) and watermelon. Place bun (right one is gluten free, the others are brioche), lettuce, burger, and then any other toppings or condiments you wish to have. Then you have yourself a nice burger. I still hope to improve on them over time!

I just wanted to share, thanks for reading!

I’m curious… why watermelons with your burgers and fries? It sounds unique.

? I have been to and hosted 100's of "backyard bbq's" and I have never seen or had a burger and watermelon on the same plate.

Seems a recipe for soggy food for no reason. Why not put/eat the watermelon after?

What about a backyard bbq is black?

God, I had this roommate for a while. During COVID quarantine some of our neighbors invited him to attend their bbq down the street. Want until then I learned he was racist as shit, just didn’t know it. Not that he didn’t like black people, but they were “different” to him. I could tell by the way he told that story for the next 3 months til he moved out. What a loser

This is good but the watermelon juice is a concern. I would put it on a separate plate or serve or after the burger and fries.

The watermelon is nice but it's throwing me off lol. I'll have watermelon after but on a separate plate cold in the fridge.

So do you let the burger get cold or the watermelon get warm?

Just a heads up but be cautious about putting pill bottles into a picture you share online. That stuff can have identifying information!

Looks delicious by the way.

Watermelon is definitely a summer season/hot weather fruit common at American barbecues, but it is not specifically a thing to have it served on the same plate at the same time. Mostly people just pick up slices and eat them immediately, the melon slice never seeing the plate.
