I recently moved to the Boston area and I'd like more queer friends and possibly even a girlfriend, but I have no idea where to meet people like me. I don't feel comfortable going to a gay bar alone and besides that I'm clueless.

Trident Bookstore on Newbury has a lot of events that tend toward queer-focus. Trivia, games, poetry readings, bonsai nights - all in a very queer friendly space.

There's a spot on Columbus avenue that hosts a bunch of various 'alternative' events if I could think of the damn name of the place. Pre covid they had a free for lgbt boxing class

Crystal Ballroom in Somerville has a broad range of events that look fun, young and queer, including drag shows featuring both kings and queens and an every other month "queer art party" called Goblin Cave.
