the Maryland Zoo has a farmyard exhibit with ponies, goats and sheep and what not, it's been a while I think you can pet them.
IntellectualDarkWave t1_itib6cv wrote
Second this. Go soon as they close for winter in two weeks.
IntellectualDarkWave t1_iticbw5 wrote
Baugher's farm has a nice little pasture with a miniature cow, a sheep, two alpacas, two donkeys and a bunch of goats. You're allowed to go directly into the pasture so you can literally just sit down and lounge with them and feed them treats. The alpacas are particularly friendly.
The the Zoo's barnyard and Elioak as mentioned above are both wonderful and my 4 year old has a great time there. They both have goat corrals where you can hang out with goats and brush them. The other animals are fenced off although the emu at Elioak is really friendly and will come say hi. Also the giraffe house at the zoo allows you to get very close to the giraffes if you go during feeding time.

Thank you all! Not sure if this matters any but we’re interested for two adults who have a strange love of farm animals

There are many humans around the world who love farm animals. What exactly makes your love for them, strange?

Lol well glad to hear it’s not that weird for two adults to want to pet baby cows then!

Prigels has a few cows, a miniature donkey, and a pig (named Tucker) that they keep around for this purpose.

There is a pig sanctuary in northern Maryland called Whispering Rise Farms. They do a socialization day and a volunteer service day every month and you'll be around the pigs.

Ahhh I am you on this level. I found an air bnb in PA that was a "farm" but really just a farmhouse with cute goats and cows and chickens and we got to interact with the animals at our leisure. It was amazingggg. Weird old farmhouse to sleep in but we got the eggs in the morning from the farm chickens, too. It was in Amish country!

Omg! Do you remember what it was called?!

Ahh shit idk if this helped. I'm getting closer. This was over 10 years ago but it was one of the best weekends of my life. I was living in Baltimore and found it bc I wanted to get away for a friends bday and we went antiquing and smoked a joint on a hill and fell asleep in the sun and ate Amish fried chicken when we were hungover

Sounds lovely!! You’ve opened my eyes to the “farms” option on air bnb so thank you!

I’m thinking the maryland agriculture and farm park! Really neat place! Lots of events on the weekends too.

This was going to be my suggestion! My son loves it and it’s a lovely place to walk. Horses, ponies, cows, sheep, goats, bee hives, bunnies, turkeys, chickens, and pigs! Also it’s just a magical little place.
EvilAbdy t1_itjwhiu wrote
Lots of great suggestions here. Also there is a county run park that’s basically a functional farm with cows, horses etc: https://www.baltimorecountymd.gov/departments/recreation/programs/agriculture-center/
I’ll definitely second Clark’s and Baughers though. Baughers especially because you can buy some of their super awesome apple cider now too

Greenmeadow farme in Ijamsville. They gave the best variety of animals
Whelppotato t1_itkjv5q wrote
This is what I was going to recommend. They are my favorite. Large variety if animals. They have a barn that has just baby animals. One day I went and they literally had a goat and her two babies that were born an hour before penned in there. You can even go in the pen with baby goats (not newborn though).
Admission also includes the tractor ride and feeding the animals.

Whispering Rise Pig Sanctuary!!!! They are so freaking great. You can set up a private tour for a donation of $10 per person and they have tons of happy and friendly pigs, many of whom love their bellies scratched and will sit on your lap. And they often will have little piglets as well. I would also recommend going to South Mountain creamery in Frederick to feed the calves! You can sign up to feed a baby and it’s very fun to do
Edit: both of these are outside of the city and you’ll need to drive but worth it imo
